The background to Dawg's is in that section, dealing with the bit before The Dawg's Biscuits opened.

In the 2002 times, having got recipes and boundless confidence, Dawg opened a small bakery and shop in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.

Exciting times: new shiny industrial ovens, and packaging things and sealing things. New slightly less shiny websites, (the first one was, ahem, cute?), and lots of biscuits to bake.

The baking began, we did markets, we had an article in the papers, a bit of radio and the biscuits sold. We had too amny types so we had to drop some of the more fanciful, the slightly american, the 'Pizza leonardo' for instance.

Baked and sold, baked and sold until we began to run out of capacity.When we made the decision to bake in another bakery, and to have one complete range baked there. The 'Dawganic' range of treats began.

New packaging, new labels, modified recipes: all this happened as we changed, got feedback from clients, and grew capacity. Gradually all the baking was done in the larger facility, with the original bakery now used for experiments, promotions and fun baking.

We are now supplying health food shops, pet shops, vets and homeopathic vets in Britain, Eire and Denmark, as well as selling on the website and a few markets in the Southeast of England.
